Bio
Dimitra Papageorgiou is an artist best known for self-portrait, contrived photography, interior experimental photography and alternative lighting techniques. She was born in Athens and graduated with a degree in Photography & Audiovisual Arts from the University of West Attica. Also, she graduated from the Ionian Technological Institute in Department of Public Relations and Communication.
She has been actively involved in photography since 2010 and has attended seminars of Platon Rivellis, Ioanna Vasdeki, Jeff Vanderpool and workshops of Fotograficus and Depression Era. In 2014 she started studying Photography with a scholarship at Orama Photography Studies which successfully completed on time. In 2015 she was awarded for her portfolio work ”Home” in the International Nikon photography contest. In 2016 she started giving lessons in Orama photography studies and Trii Art Hub. She has taken part in several group exhibitions and competitions since her very start in photography.
As a still photographer and videographer Dimitra is well known for her collaboration with the recreation team Banana Boys, Athens Pride Festival and Drag shows in Athens. However in 2017 her personal point of view lead the way for a Contemporary Art photography workshop at Tri Art Hub in Koukaki.
Her video and photos has been published at Trii Art Hub (2016 – 2019) Koukaki, Athens, the Palette Project in Kavala (2016), at the ADAF (Athens Digital Art Festival, 2016), the festival of Preveza (2016), the InBetween project Festival in Thessaloniki (2015), the Art and Madness project at Ios Gallery in Athens (2014) and at the Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil in Sparta (2013) etc.
She currently lives and works in Athens.
